Itinerary
Days 1-2: Nxai Pan National Park
Start your journey with a scenic transfer from Maun to Nxai Pan National Park. Enjoy your first afternoon game drive around 4 PM, where elephants, antelope, and the iconic baobabs await. Return to camp in time for a hearty dinner under the stars.
On Day 2, rise early for a morning game drive after breakfast, exploring Nxai Pan’s diverse wildlife and stunning vistas. Return to camp for lunch and a rest before heading out for an evening drive to catch more wildlife activity at dusk.
Days 3-4: Makgadikgadi National Park
Travel from Nxai Pan to the wide-open Makgadikgadi Salt Pans, a landscape famous for its stark beauty and migratory bird species. Settle into your new campsite and enjoy a peaceful afternoon game drive as the sun begins to set, painting the salt pans in soft pastel hues.
On Day 4, start the day with a sunrise game drive, ideal for spotting zebras, wildebeests, and other animals drawn to this unique environment. After lunch and relaxation at camp, venture out again for an afternoon drive to see the park come alive with the approaching evening.
Days 5-7: Central Kalahari Game Reserve
Journey into the heart of Botswana—the vast and remote Central Kalahari Game Reserve. Known for its endless horizons, this area is home to unique wildlife, from lions and cheetahs to the Kalahari black-maned lions. An afternoon game drive offers your first taste of this awe-inspiring wilderness.
Days 6 and 7 are devoted to exploration. Early mornings and late afternoons are ideal for spotting wildlife, so each day begins with a sunrise game drive. Return for lunch and enjoy a siesta or high tea, then set out again to discover the park’s varied ecosystems. With luck, you’ll encounter rare desert-adapted species and breathtaking views of the Kalahari’s boundless savannahs.
Day 8: Return to Maun
